Who we are

digitaledge.uk is run by Edge Digital Solutions LTD, trading as Digital Edge, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 11540507. We are the controller of the personal data described here.

What we collect and why

When you send an enquiry

Our contact form asks for your name, email address and message, and optionally your company, website and what you’re interested in. We use these to reply, to prepare anything you ask for (for example a free snapshot of your site’s rankings and AI visibility) and to discuss working together. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries. We don’t add you to a newsletter or mailing list.

When you email us

We receive your email address, name and whatever you write, and use it to reply. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us.

When you browse the site (analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are visited and how people find us, so we can improve the site. It records things like the pages you view, how you arrived, your approximate location (country or city, derived from your IP address) and your device and browser type. It does not give us your name or email. Analytics only runs with cookies if you click Accept on our cookie banner; our lawful basis for it is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time (see “Cookies” below).

Technical data

Like any website, our hosting provider receives your IP address, browser details and the page requested so it can deliver the page and protect the service from abuse. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

We do not use your data for automated decisions that affect you, and we do not sell it.

Cookies

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Nothing is set until you choose. Reject is as easy as Accept, and the site works the same either way.

• de_consent (strictly necessary, set by us): remembers your choice so we don’t ask on every page. Lasts 6 months, after which we ask again.
• _ga and _ga_H34HFF6PC6 (Google Analytics, only if you accept): distinguish visitors and keep track of your session. Last up to 2 years.

We use Google Consent Mode: until you accept, Google Analytics is told not to store cookies or identifiers, and Google may receive only basic, cookieless signals (such as that a page was viewed). We don’t use advertising or social-media tracking cookies.

Changing your choice: click Cookie settings (also in every page footer) at any time. If you switch to Reject, we delete the Google Analytics cookies. You can also clear cookies in your browser settings. The contact form sets no cookies of its own.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell or rent your data. We share it only with the service providers that run the site for us, who act on our instructions:

• Vercel: hosts the website.
• Cloudflare: serves and protects the site, stores contact-form enquiries, and delivers them to our inbox.
• Microsoft: hosts our email (Microsoft 365).
• Google: Google Analytics, and Google Fonts, which serves the site’s typefaces (your browser requests them from Google, which receives your IP address).

We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.

International transfers

Some of these providers are based in, or process data in, the United States and other countries outside the UK. When data leaves the UK we rely on the UK government’s adequacy regulations (including the UK–US “data bridge” for US organisations certified to it) or on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses, as offered in each provider’s data processing terms.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries and emails: up to 24 months after our last exchange, unless you become a client, in which case we keep business records for as long as the law requires (usually six years).
• Analytics: Google Analytics keeps event-level data for the retention period set in our account (no longer than 14 months); after that only aggregated reports remain.
• Hosting logs: kept by Vercel for a short period for security and operations, then deleted.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• have it corrected if it’s wrong;
• have it erased;
• restrict how we use it;
• object to our use of it where we rely on legitimate interests;
• receive it in a portable format (data portability);
• withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent. This doesn’t affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator: ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.

Children

This site is for businesses and isn’t aimed at children. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you think a child has given us their details, contact us and we’ll delete them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use personal data we’ll update this page and the date below. Significant changes will be highlighted here.
