What we collect when you use digitaledge.uk, why, and what you can do about it. Last updated 11 October 2026.

Who we are

digitaledge.uk is run by Edge Digital Solutions LTD, trading as Digital Edge, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 11540507 and registered office at Unit 10, 80 Lytham Road, Fulwood, Preston, PR2 3AQ. We are the controller of the personal data described here. For anything about your data, use the contact details on our About page.

What we collect and why

When you send an enquiry. Our contact form asks for your name, email address and message, and optionally your company. When you send it, we store the enquiry in Cloudflare (Workers KV) and email a copy to our team inbox. We also record the country your request came from and your browser type, which helps us spot spam. We use your details to reply and to discuss working together. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries. We don't add you to a newsletter or mailing list.

When you email us. We receive your email address, name and whatever you write, and use it to reply. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us.

Technical data. Like any website, our hosting provider receives your IP address, browser details and the page requested so it can deliver the page and protect the service from abuse. To limit spam, the contact form briefly keeps a record of your IP address (for up to 15 minutes) to count how many messages were sent from it. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

We do not use your data for automated decisions that affect you, and we do not sell it.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent your data. We share it only with the service providers that run the site for us, who act on our instructions:

• Cloudflare: hosts, serves and protects the site, stores contact-form enquiries, and delivers them to our inbox.
• Microsoft: hosts our email (Microsoft 365).
• Google: Google Fonts serves the site's typefaces (your browser requests them from Google, which receives your IP address).

We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.

International transfers

Some of these providers are based in, or process data in, the United States and other countries outside the UK. When data leaves the UK we rely on the UK government's adequacy regulations (including the UK–US "data bridge" for US organisations certified to it) or on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses, as offered in each provider's data processing terms.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries and emails: up to 24 months after our last exchange, unless you become a client, in which case we keep business records for as long as the law requires (usually six years).
• Hosting logs: kept by Cloudflare for a short period for security and operations, then deleted.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• have it corrected if it's wrong;
• have it erased;
• restrict how we use it;
• object to our use of it where we rely on legitimate interests;
• receive it in a portable format (data portability).

To use any of these rights, use the contact details on our About page. There's no charge, and we'll reply within one month.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator: ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.

Children

This site is for businesses and isn't aimed at children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you think a child has given us their details, contact us and we'll delete them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use personal data we'll update this page and the date at the top.
